FEELING ABANDONED, FORSAKEN? CRY OUT TO GOD..

Psalm 142: 1- 2, 3a, 4-5
“With my voice I cry out to the LORD; with my voice I plead for mercy to the LORD. I pour out my complaint before him; I tell my trouble before him. When my spirit faints within me, you know my way!

Look to the right and see: there is none who takes notice of me; no refuge remains to me; no one cares for my soul. I cry to you, O LORD; I say, “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.” ” (ESV)

1 Peter 5:7 “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” (NLT)

Psalm 27:10
“Even if my father and mother abandon me, the Lord will hold me close.” (NLT)

2 Timothy 4: 16 – 17 “At my first defense no one stood with me, but all forsook me. May it not be charged against them. But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the message might be preached fully through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear. Also I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. ” (NKJV)

God Won’t Abandon You – You are a child of God, Created By God, Secured, Accepted, and Valued By God. You have direct access to God’s throne of Grace. Nothing can separate us from God’s Love. God will never abandon you.

John 1:12 “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” (NKJV)

Isaiah 49:15-16a “Never! Can a mother forget her nursing child? Can she feel no love for the child she has borne? But even if that were possible, I would not forget you! See, I have written your name on the palms of my hands.” (NLT)

God has not abandoned you, even in times of trouble, persecution, distress

2 Corinthians 4:7-9 “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed. ” (KJV)

Don’t Abandon Doing Good, God’s work, Your work, Projects, Dreams etc When things get rough

Luke 9:62 “Jesus replied, No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.” (ESV)

Philippians 1:6 “Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ” (NKJV)

Galatians 6:9-10 “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.” (NKJV)

Don’t Abandon Family, The Needy, Or Those who have wronged you

1 Timothy 5:3 – 8 “Take care of widows who are destitute. If a widow has family members to take care of her, let them learn that religion begins at their own doorstep and that they should pay back with gratitude some of what they have received. This pleases God immensely. You can tell a legitimate widow by the way she has put all her hope in God, praying to him constantly for the needs of others as well as her own. But a widow who exploits people’s emotions and pocketbooks—well, there’s nothing to her. Tell these things to the people so that they will do the right thing in their extended family. Anyone who neglects to care for family members in need repudiates the faith. That’s worse than refusing to believe in the first place.” (The Message)

1 Timothy 5:8 “Whoever does not care for his own relatives, especially his own family members, has turned against the faith and is worse than someone who does not believe in God.” (NCV)

Don’t Abandon God or Your Faith in Times of Trouble

John 16:1 “I have told you these things so that you won’t abandon your faith.” (NLT)

John 16: 1-4 “I’ve told you these things to prepare you for rough times ahead. They are going to throw you out of the meeting places. There will even come a time when anyone who kills you will think he’s doing God a favor. They will do these things because they never really understood the Father. I’ve told you these things so that when the time comes and they start in on you, you’ll be well-warned and ready for them.” (The Message)

A Reminder About God’s Care – Psalm 23
“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness
