BREAD OF LIFE CHRIST, the Bread of Life: May the whole world be gripped in fear, may all men tremble, may the Heavens exult when, in the hands of the priest, the CHRIST, the SON of the living GOD, descends upon the altar. O amazing splendour, O astounding condescension, O sublime humility. The Master of the Universe, GOD Himself and the SON of GOD humbles Himself so much that he hides Himself for our salvation under the humble appearance of bread. See, brothers, the humility of GOD and pour out your hearts before him. Humble yourselves so that, in due course, you may be exalted by CHRIST. Keep nothing of yourselves to yourselves. Then CHRIST may completely posses you, as He has wholly given Himself to you.

HAVE YOU BEEN SAVED?

How should a Catholic reply to the question, "Have you been saved?"

Answer

This question is answered in our tract Assurance of Salvation? , which suggests the following reply:

As the Bible says, I am already saved (Rom. 8:24, Eph. 2:5-8), but I’m also being saved (1 Cor. 1:8, 2 Cor. 2:15, Phil. 2:12), and I have the hope that I will be saved (Rom. 5:9-10, 1 Cor. 3:12-15). Like the apostle Paul, I am working out my salvation in fear and trembling (Phil. 2:12), with hopeful confidence in the promises of Christ (Rom. 5:2, 2 Tim. 2:11-13).
